It's official...

My dog is deaf. Yup, completely deaf.

Cynder is up around 15 years old now and that's pretty much near the end of the line for a Shih Tzu. At this point I think she has only one tooth, she has cataracts, she's constantly farting. The old girl is falling apart at the seams. She sleeps most of the day but she seems really, really happy when we go for our walks, when she's eating, or when we are snuggling up together. Pretty much the same things that make me happy.

Recently she started to not listen to me when I would give her a command. I was wondering why all of a sudden she was turning into this bad, defiant dog. Then the thought popped in my mind... "What if she can't hear me?" So the other night I came home from work and tested that theory. The video above shows the results. Completely deaf.

Since I found out I have been much more touchy feely with her. I constantly pull her over to me so that we are at least touching. I wake her up a lot during the day and spend time with her. She seems to appreciate it. I love my stinky old deaf dog and I'm treasuring the time she has left here with me.

Maybe you could find something she could eat that would be easier to digest? They have digestive enzyme capsules for people, I don't know if they work for dogs

... Also it was interesting hearing your voice and seeing you in the short video. I don't know if you ever talk in the porn videos because I refuse to pay money to see the whole thing : ) but it seems you let yourself be more lively and real than most of the guys on there.

Oh Nick I know how you are feeling about now. I lost both my dogs last year. My Basset Hound Princess in August she was 9. By beautiful Papa Bear a lab mix passed in November He was almost 15. Miss them very much but wouldn't trade my time with them for anything. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Enjoy all the warm kisses and stinky farts while you can. Take care.
