Name that fish!

I wanted to post about my weekend but I haven't had a chance due to some emergency home situations. I actually spent last night locked in my bedroom with my pets while the house was fogged for fleas. I had done the bedroom earlier in the day. Too bad the poison fog won't kill the freakin rats that are still running my house!

So my weekend was pretty good.

Friday night I finally got the chance to take Luke out for his birthday. We went to the Mai Kai (a really beautiful Polynesian restaurant) and ate outside by a secluded waterfall. I think we sampled every tropical drink on the menu! It was an awesome night.

Saturday I cleaned house for a bit then went pet shopping with Luke. I went in the store to buy a new Beta fish. Sadly, my old one, Buddy, died while I was away in San Francisco. They had some cute puppies in the store and one of them was shaking and falling over in it's cage. It didn't look like it was going to make it. We took it out and played with it for a while and it turned out to be the sweetest little puppy. It was a King Charles Spaniel just like Elizabeth Taylor, Charlotte's dog in Sex in the City. At $1100 there was no way I could afford it. (I actually went back to the store last night and, thank God, someone had bought him.) Here are some pictures of us playing with the little puppy...

Next, we headed over to this great bird store and I picked out a beautiful canary. I used to have a lot of birds a while back but they all died of old age. Even the parrot! Damn, I'm getting old. I named the canary "Murphy" and it's been great to wake up to him singing every morning.
Here are pictures of Murphy and my new Beta...

We ended up at a friends house for a little pool party and had an awesome time. Luke wanted some new pics for his profiles so I took some with my iPhone. He hated all of them. I really like this one...

Sunday I did some more house work and then did my "stripper/dancer" thing on the Gay Tea Cruise. Due to some kind of miscommunication there ended up being 5 dancers! I still made some pretty good money though. I also learned that I am not cut out to be a dancer/stripper. I do fine in a seedy leather bar doing GoGo dancing on a box or in a cage. But I don't dance nearly as well as I should to be that kind of stripper... as the female impersonator emcee was kind enough to point out. Ugh.

So that was my weekend. I'm glad I got the chance to spend some fun time with Luke. He's really become a good friend since our shoot together.

Now for the "Name that Fish" part...
I have NO IDEA what to name my new Beta fish so I am leaving it up to you guys. PLEASE suggest a name for him and I will pick the one I like the best. This should be interesting!

You and Luke look great! RIP Buddy. Those fleas are a pain in the ass down there! I had a hell of time with them in the summer when I lived in Atlanta. Murphy, your new canary is pretty! As for as the rats go maybe you should consider a cat? Mine turned out to be a great mouser. I'm stuck on a name for the fish. I was thinking Benito or Benoit? Good luck with it anyway.

Hey there,

wanted to take Betty, too.
But then, I remembered it's a boy.

My name for him would be:
Giles.
Sounds sophisticated, doesn't it?

I "Wanda" what you should call a fish? Grrroan! LOL

How 'bout Bubba? Ralph? Or Earl? Are Betas the same thing as Siamese Fighting Fish? ... "Yul" might be a decent name if so, (as in Yul Brenner).

Looks like you and Luke had a great time on his B-day. Hafta say, you're pretty darn cute together too. ;o[) Especially with the King Charles ... two big, hunky guys with something helpless ... Hmmm, my mind is wandering here. LOL

King Charles are lovely little dogs btw.

The pool pic of Luke is really nice, he looks fantastic, but I sure hope you got a pic of one of you guys positioned so it looked like "manneken pis". ... and if so, enquiring eyes wanna see! ;o{)

I'm "Godfather" to two cockatiels and I've had my eyes on a bare-eyed cockatoo at my favourite pet shop in Halifax. I've been going in on a fairly regular basis and surreptitiously teaching him to swear. MwaaaaahHaaaaaHaaaaa! (Evil Grin)

Okay, so I think I would have to go with the movie Shark Tales, Will Smitch plays Oscar so I like that name. I also like Jack Black's character Lenny (the shark). Sorry I love animated movies.
Elizabeth Taylor, I hadn't thought about that dog in a while. Wow, what a cute puppy.
Great pics btw.
